What processors are used in automatic car parking systems?

Microprocessors are typically used in embedded automatic car parking systems that you see in the top used trucks for sale in Fountain Inn. These are miniature computers that are actually a semiconductor chip capable of performing different mathematical computations based on the inputs of the sensors. The entire assembly is technically known as Intelligent Parking Assist Systems or the IPAS. Toyota was the first to manufacture the system back in 1999 and named it Advanced Parking Guidance System or APGS.

The IPAS or APGS microprocessor takes input from the car’s sonar system along with the back camera and two front sensors. With image processing, the miniature computer then detects obstacles and calculates the steering angle to parallelly park the car. All the relevant data is displayed on the navigation display of the dashboard that includes information about both the obstacles and calculated steering angles.

Today, almost all automakers manufacture and produce their own Intelligent Parking Assist Systems. Companies like Intel, NVIDIA, Texas Instruments, and Micron Technology supply the chip. The feature is generally available in upscale used cars in Fountain Inn, SC, and absent from the basic trims. The microprocessors used have fewer functionalities than the ones used in our smartphones or personal computers and are made for this purpose only.
